Something's Wrong With Us, Vol. 6

Today's manga post is on Something's Wrong With Us, Vol. 6 by Natsumi Andō. It is 160 pages long and is published by Kodansha Comics. The cover has Nao and Tsubaki on it. As it is the sixth volume in the series, you need to have read the first five volumes to understand the plot. There is mild foul language, mild sexuality, and no violence in this manga. The intended reader is someone who likes twisty, thriller romances with morally grey characters. The story is told from third person close of the main characters. There Be Spoilers Ahead.

From the back of the manga- A New Spark
Nao is more nervous than ever as her body begins to accommodate a new life, so she copes by focusing on her beloved wagashi . She throws herself into making Shimaya’s warabi mochi in order to help Jojima earn back the acclaim for his family’s treasured confection. Meanwhile, Tsubaki senses that Nao is hiding something from him, but decides not to press her about it. When they visit Yuko, Tsubaki lays bare his feelings, and Nao is touched by his sincerity. As the couple grows closer, she thinks she can take a chance on his love, but trouble is never far on the horizon for these two lovers bound by a dark past…

Review- This volume has some real bombshells in it. From Nao being pregnant to who Tsubaki and Nao's real fathers are. There is just to much going on. The grandfather knows that not only is Tsubaki not is his grandson but that he has a granddaughter out there somewhere. Nao is really feeling the pressure now. The mother-in-law is starting to really get crazy and she may try anything to keep her hands on the shop. As the plot goes, it just keeps getting better with very twist. I cannot wait to read the next volume.

I give this volume a Five out of Five stars. I get nothing for my review and I bought this manga with my own money.

Fushigi Yûgi: Genbu Kaiden, Vol. 8

Today's manga post is on Fushigi Yûgi: Genbu Kaiden, Vol. 8 by Yuu Watase. It is 192 pages long and is published by Shojo Beat. As it is eighth volume in the series, you need to have read the first seven volumes to understand the story. The cover has Takiko, Uruki, and Soren on it. There is no foul language, no sex, and action violence in this manga. The story is told from third person close of the main characters. There Be Spoilers Ahead.

From the back of the manga- Takiko helps Uruki grieve for the loss of a loved one--a loss she knows only too well. But now that the Qudong army knows how to fight Celestial power, Takiko and the Celestial Warriors have no time to lose. As they prepare to rescue Teg, Uruki learns the truth about the prophecy: to summon Genbu, the Priestess will have to sacrifice her life. Refusing to let another death happen, Uruki vows to send Takiko back to the safety of her own world…by any means necessary.

Review- So much happens in this volume. From Uruki mourning Soren to the Celestial Warriors learn what will happen when Takiko fulfills her duty as the Priestess. So the Warriors want Takiko to go back home and live. Of course they don't talk to her about it. So Takiko is feeling very rejected and alone, then she gets sent back home. So much drama and of course sending Takiko back will not stop anything. Fate is in motion now and nothing can stop it. I look forward to the next volume and seeing how Takiko is going to get back.

I give this manga a Five out of Five stars. I get nothing for my review and I bought this manga with my own money.

Kiss Me at the Stroke of Midnight, Vol. 9

Today's manga post is on Kiss Me at the Stroke of Midnight, Vol. 9 by Rin Mikimoto. It is 200 pages long and is published by Kodansha Comics. The cover has Hinana and Kaede on it. As it is the ninth volume in the series, you need to have read the first eight volumes to understand the story. The intended reader is someone who likes shojo romance with cute characters. There is no foul language, no sex, and no violence in this manga. The story is told from third person close of Hinana. There Be Spoilers Ahead.

From the back of the manga- Shadows of the Past
As Hinana sinks deeper into despair, Akira has no one else to turn to but his rival Kaede. Akira shares Hinana's past family troubles with Kaede because it's affecting her now more than ever. What will Kaede do when he finally hears the truth? And in a moment of respite, Hinana and Kaede take a vacation to a hot spring resort, and, much to their chaperone's dismay, things get a little steamy!

Review- This volume is really great with all the back story for Hinana and why she is how she is. Kaede is willing to meet with Akira man to man and Akira is willing to give Kaede the knowledge that he needs to understand. Kaede is really great in this volume, he steps up as Hinana's boyfriend. He goes to Hinana's mother and has a serious talk. Hinana and Kaede are both growing as characters but I liked seeing more growth from Kaede in this volume. I look forward to the next volume!

I give this volume a Five out of Five stars. I get nothing for my review and I bought this manga with my own money.

Daytime Shooting Star, Vol. 8

Today's manga post is on Daytime Shooting Star, Vol. 8 by Mika Yamamori. It is 192 pages long and is published by Shojo Beat. The cover has Suzume and Yuyuka on it. As it is the eighth in the series, you need to have read the first seven volumes to understand the story. The intended reader is someone who likes shojo coming of age stories. There in no foul language, no sex, and no violence in this manga. The story is told from third person close of the main character, Suzume. There Be Spoilers Ahead.

From the back of the manga- Suzume has moved to Tokyo and is living with her uncle. Mr. Shishio’s change of heart causes Suzume to shut herself up in her room. When Suzume's mother returns to their hometown for a brief stay, Suzume makes the sudden decision to return home. But Yuyuka and Suzume's other Tokyo friends are determined to bring her back.

Review- So Mr. Shishio's choice to end the relationship with Suzume throws her into depression and uncertainty. She does not know what she wants anymore and when her mother is home, Suzume runs back home. There she hopes to clear her head. But her friends in Tokyo are worried that she will never return. So they follow her, including Mamura. I really enjoyed this volume now that the student-teacher relationship is over. It is also nice to Yuyuka moving on from her crush on Mamura and being open to new people. I look forward to the next volume and seeing what drama is going to happen next.

I give this volume a Four out of Five stars. I get nothing for my review and I bought this manga with my own money.
